In total, domestic aircraft building plants have manufactured about 45,000 aircraft of the “MiG” brand, of which 11,000 have been exported.
The interesting video in this post aims to celebrate the 80th anniversary of MiG.
The Russian Aircraft Corporation (RAC) “MiG” product line consists of up-to-date fighters-interceptors, and multi-role combat aircraft, including newly developed fighters of the unified family of MiG-29K/KUB, MiG-29М/М2, and advanced MiG-35, training equipment, as well as light general-purpose airplanes. The RAC MiG designers are intensively working on the creation of a new generation of aeronautical engineering, both manned and unmanned.
The enterprises that manufacture MiG brand products have contributed a glorious page to the history of Russian and world aviation. The A.I. Mikoyan Design Bureau, which Artem Mikoyan himself founded along with his deputy Mikhail Gurevich on Dec. 8, 1939 (thus the first letters of their surnames gave the name to a series of military aircraft called the “MiG”), included in the RAC “MiG,” has developed about 450 projects of combat aircraft, from which 170 projects are realized, and 94 were made in series.
Domestic aircraft building plants have manufactured about 45,000 aircraft of the “MiG” brand in total, of which 11,000 aircraft have been exported.
Foreign manufacturers have produced over 14,000 “MiG” fighters under license abroad. Aircraft from the “MiG” family brand have protected the skies of more than 40 countries around the world. What stands among them are such glorified fighters as the MiG-15, MiG-17, MiG-19, MiG-21, MiG-23, MiG-25, MiG-29, and MiG-31.
